Shiny New Year’s captain, cruise director, and crew have many shiny things planned for you!*
Mix & Mingle
Boarding starts at 6:00pm and leads directly into the Cocktail Hour. Mix and mingle with fellow passengers from planets across the ’Verse (states across the country.) Catch up with old friends and make new allies. Sidle up to the cash bar for delectable libations. Hors d’oeuvres and crudités will be served (that’s French for snacks).
Burn the land and boil the sea, you can’t take the sky from me…
In addition to your boarding pass (name tag) you’ll be given a place card with your name and dinner selection. Choose a table with friends, or boldly go to meet new people. Dinner will be plated and served by the ship’s (hotel’s) catering department at 8:00pm. When you register, you get to choose between beef, salmon, or chicken (gluten-free). Admire the unique, custom centerpieces on each table – one of them could be yours… for a price!
Dance to music from across time and space
We’re stoked to welcome T L Christman to Shiny New Year to play music from across time and space for your dancing and listening pleasure. She’s been DJing in and around South Eastern PA for 30 years as a mobile DJ at events ranging from weddings and private parties to car shows and Halloween haunts (she’s known for having a playlist with over 5,000 Halloween songs). She has most recently DJ’d at The Browncoat Ball 2024 in Bethlehem, PA. She is a carousel and amusement park historian who has worked in the amusement industry for 25 years and written two books on the subject. Tracey’s fandoms include Doctor Who, Torchwood, Hitchiker’s Guide to The Galaxy, JRR Tolkien, Red Dwarf, Good Omens, Sandman, What We Do In The Shadows, Resident Alien, Rocky Horror Picture Show (Tim Curry!), and and most recently Firefly.
All Night Long!
This party is a marathon, not a sprint, so we’ll be serving snacks mid-evening to tide you over until midnight. Buy tickets and peruse the many collectibles and prizes on the raffle tables. We’ll also be auctioning off the unique, custom centerpieces from each table. The crew will be secretly rating your fancy attire and the captain will be awarding prizes for the best and most creatively dressed. Then join us at midnight for a champagne toast to ring in the New Year.

Everything listed above are the official activities of our event, but Browncoats are always aiming to misbehave. RSVP at our Facebook event, Shiny New Year 2025 and join the discussion there. Your fellow attendees will be planning informal activities throughout the weekend with more opportunities to catch up with old friends, meet new people, and maybe start lifelong friendships.
